Y.A.L.E. School at the 2012 ABAI conference in Philadelphia

In January, representatives from the Y.A.L.E. School attended the annual Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) Autism conference in Philadephia. This year’s conference topic was Science-Based Social and Communication Strategies in Autism. ABAI is one of the leading national organizations for people involved with behavior analysis. Y.A.L.E. staff members met the public and ABA professionals at our exhibit table where information about Y.A.L.E.’s various programs and services was available.

As you bustle about getting ready for the holidays, imagine for a moment being a child with autism: the stranger with a white beard and a red fur coat is terrifying, new foods present a sensory overload, music is too loud, lights are too bright, and riding in the car or traveling a new route can provoke a tantrum.

Learning through Giving Back

Preventing Bullying by Building Social Skills

This fall, the nation’s toughest anti-bullying law went into effect in New Jersey, holding schools accountable and requiring them to establish procedures to stop or prevent instances of harassment, intimidation and bullying. After School Program Promises Fun and Learning

The Y.A.L.E. School’s Cherry Hill Campus may soon have an after-school program, and judging by the reaction of parents to a recent survey, it couldn’t come soon enough.
