Students Are “Seeing Green” as They Learn Job Skills and Save the Planet

The Y.A.L.E. School has entered into a new partnership with GreenVision®, a New Jersey-based non-profit offering students employment training and work skills in a growing area of the technology sector that benefits our planet and our communities. Students at Y.A.L.E.’s Northfield and Williamstown campuses are accepting old electronics – household appliances, computers, fax machines and other office equipment – in order to dismantle, sort and recycle the components. The Community Is The Classroom At The Y.A.L.E. School Audubon Campus

YALE Audubon Whole Foods Marlton 008At The Y.A.L.E. School’s Audubon campus, teens are getting a “Whole” lot of community-based learning and hands-on vocational experience. Through a unique collaboration with Whole Foods Market in Marlton, students with autism get to experience what it is like to hold a job at a local supermarket. Read more and view photo gallery »

Tools for Success: Building Careers in Northfield

In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, students at the Y.A.L.E. School’s Northfield Campus have the opportunity to explore careers associated with building trades. Through hands-on and community-based experiences, students learn about cabinet-making, decking, stair construction, lay-out designs, framing, door installations, building foundations, and interior and exterior home finishing.

The innovative program begins with the basics. After students demonstrate skills on an entry examination, they begin formal instruction in woodworking and building maintenance.

Parent Workshop: Planning for transition to post-secondary and vocational settings

Free parent workshop on Tue. May 3rd from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Cherry Hill School.

The workshop is entitled “The one yard line: Planning for transition to post-secondary and vocational settings,” and will be presented by Josiana Cetta, Psy.D., and Sarah Allen.
